This also applies to the aerospace sector, in which Swedish skills and supply capability are highly rated in the world. Considerable back-ground experience was gained during the comprehensive expansion of Swedish aviation and corresponding new airport facilities, aimed at providing a competitive and efficient air-transport system.
Part of this expansion may be explained by Sweden's overall growth, but a much larger portion is attributable to product adaptation and changes in Aviation Solutions, such as new aircraft, new routes and extended regional air services.
Many Swedish suppliers of Aviation Consulting services and Aviation Technology have already succeeded in penetrating a fastgrowing world market.
There is, indeed, a sizeable global market for Swedish specialities - mainly Airport Construction and Air-navigation projects, Training, Maintenance and the provision of aircraft and aircraft components. This is the background to the founding of the Swedish Aviation Group, a government sponsored umbrella organisation for the application of Swedish know-how and technology to aviation projects.
The Group is working closely with The Swedish Trade Council (Exportrådet).
